Event and program recaps and photo series are one of the best ways to engage social media followers! These posts help participants remember the great time they had, and help our followers who couldn’t attend stay current with events, and entices them to participate next time. Photos offer eye-catching posts that speak for themselves.
Creating the Story
More than sharing event graphics or fun videos, social media is about telling a story. I enjoy opportunities to write about customers, employees, or events where I can share the human side of the organizations I represent.
Congratulations Dr. Joseph Sarver!
We are so ecstatic to have been a part of Joey’s journey as he studied @vt_chemical and finally defended his dissertation, “Linking Thermophysical Transitions and Rheological Properties to Polymer Foaming Outcomes with Carbon Dioxide.” Dining Services expanded our Au Bon Pain service to Goodwin Hall in 2014, which was when Tonya Harris began working with us. It was not long after we opened this location that Joey became a regular customer. He stopped in to the kiosk almost daily during his studies, and quickly got to know Tonya. Joanne Williams joined the ABP Goodwin team as the Shift Leader in 2019, and has also enjoyed greeting and serving our regular customers, like Joey, on a daily basis.
Both Tonya and Joanne love to see the students we serve succeed. They got to witness that success in person this week as Joey kindly extended an invitation to his dissertation defense to each of them. The ABP team made sure to quickly rearrange staffing schedules so that the women could attend and show their support. It is humbling to witness the impact Dining Services has on our students, whether as student employees or as customers. Thanks for including us in your story, Joey!
Event Promotion
I utilize fun and eye-catching graphics to garner interest in upcoming events. This is a great way to feature partnerships with other organizations, and let customers know what to expect when they make plans to attend a function or event.
Video Content
Social media is constantly evolving, and the use of video marketing has skyrocketed in the last few years. I have been cultivating skills in animation and video editing for more dynamic social content. This Instagram Reel has a quick and unpolished feel like many popular TikToks, and uses the #GorgeousGorgeousGirls trend with an original script.
Engaging Content
For this piece, I used a graphic created by the team graphic artist to create an engaging social media post. The graphic features a popular dish served on campus, and the caption allows our viewers to recreate the dish at home. This allows customers to share photos of their creations and connect with our product when they are away from campus.
